Former Milwaukee Bucks power forward Vin Baker sold the gold medal he earned at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. Baker's medal fetched $67,642 at auction, ESPN.com reported.
He received the medal as part of the U.S. men's basketball team. Baker, who earned more than $100 million during his 13-year NBA career, has fallen on hard times financially - losing his mansion and restaurant to foreclosure.
The 6-foot-11 Baker, spent the first four years of his pro career with the Milwaukee Bucks before playing the next five seasons in Seattle with the SuperSonics.
Baker, 42, also played briefly with the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Clippers. He was a standout collegiate player at the University of Hartford.
A four-time NBA All-Star, Baker has career averages of 15 points and 7.4 rebounds.
