A recent survey by ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine revealed that seven out of 10 NFL players believe that Johnny Manziel will live up to the hype in the NFL.

Johnny Manziel Lets Antics Overshadow Poor Play

The survey asked many questions to 100-plus active NFL players and one of the questions was: "Yes or no: Johnny Manziel will be a bust.” Of the 82 players who answered the question, 69 percent said Manziel would live up to the hype in the NFL and be a successful quarterback.

The survey occurred before Manziel’s first NFL snaps last weekend against the Detroit Lions, but after two very limited showings the jury is still out. After a solid showing against the Lions, Manziel fell flat in the Browns’ 24-23 loss to the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football.

Manziel finished the night 7 of 16 passing for 65 yards and a touchdown, but what made headlines Tuesday was that Manziel was caught flipping off the Redskins bench after a third-quarter incompletion.

One person who is convoked that Manziel will make it in the NFL is Pittsburgh Steelers’ legendary defensive coordinator Dick Lebeau. Lebeau spoke about the survey and said that the players have the right idea when it comes to Manziel.

"He makes plays and he was playing against some real talented athletes in that conference," LeBeau said. "From what I could see (Texas A&M) was getting up there around 45, 50 points per game, so your quarterback's got to be doing something right. And he can keep the play alive.”

Reports are that the Browns are going to name a starting quarterback any day now in hopes that the starter can get some much needed playing time with the starting offense in Cleveland’s next preseason game against the St. Louis Rams.
