On the United States side of the bracket, Texas and Illinois face-off for the right to advance in the Little League World Series.

The Texas squad topped Rhode Island 7-4 in their first game and lost in heartbreaker to Mo’Ne Davis and the rest of the Pennsylvania team in the last inning 7-6 and then rebounded with an 11-4 victory over Washington. Illinois won its opener 12-2 with a solid and impressive showing against Washington, only to get throttled by a great Nevada team 13-2, and then won a last second thriller against Rhode Island 8-7.

Illinois should benefit from the fact that this Texas team will be playing it’s third game in as many days and the fatigue could start to set in. Illinois has been a solid offensive team throughout the tournament and have shown a clutch factor that could come in handy in the late goings.

The winner of this Tuesday matchup will earn the right to play the loser of Wednesday’s Nevada and Pennsylvania game on Thursday.
