UFC champions Jon Jones and Ronda Rousey were in Los Angeles on Sunday for WWE SummerSlam 2014, the annual event that is one of the biggest pay-per-view blockbusters of the year. The two spent a ton of time backstage for photo-ops with WWE superstars.
Jones, the light heavyweight champion and top pound-for-pound fighter in the world, watched the event from a Staples Center suite:
He caught up with former superstars Hulk Hogan and the Big Show:
He even took a video with SummerSlam's main event winner and former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar following the event:
And had some fun in a quick sparring session with former pro boxing champ and UFC super fan Mike Tyson:
Women's bantamweight champ and Expendables 3 co-star Rousey took in the event from ringside with her fellow "Four Horsewomen" teammates Marina Shafir, Jessamyn Duke and Shayna Baszler. Rousey wore a shirt paying homage to "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, the inspiration behind her nickname, and was seen wearing a Bray Wyatt fedora during the broadcast.
She took photos with WWE superstars Roman Reigns:
The USOs:
And new Divas champion Paige:
Stephanie McMahon, who came up victorious in her first match in 10 years, even flashed the "Four Horsewomen" sign before her contest against Brie Bella.
Rousey also did an interview with WWE.com and she left the door open on the possibility of getting in the WWE ring in the future saying, "You never know. I'm going to try to do as many [opportunities] as possible at the right time or at the best time."
Jones is sidelined after undergoing knee surgery last week that delayed a planned UFC 178 title fight with top contender Daniel Cormier. The fight, which has become one of the most anticipated fights ever after generating a slew of headlines, has been rescheduled to UFC 182 on Jan. 3.
Rousey, who made her fourth title defense last month by defeating Alexis Davis in 16 seconds, is also recovering from knee surgery. She said there's a possibility she can fight before the year's end, but no opponent has been finalized yet.
