Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that Sting and McMahon met face-to-face for the first time in Stamford, CT and he also met other WWE employees while he was there. Sting reportedly noted off-camera this weekend that he and the WWE are close to a deal.

There were rumors that Sting would take on The Undertaker last April at WrestleMania XXX, but the WWE didn't work out a deal with him and Brock Lesnar ended up defeating The Undertaker and ending The Streak which has now put 'Taker's career in jeopardy.

Sting has been adamant that he wants to wrestle The Undertaker in what could be the final match of both of their careers and he told Sam Roberts at the WWE 2K15 roster reveal in Los Angeles this weekend that 'Taker losing The Streak wouldn't diminish their potential match.

"No it doesn't diminish things. I did have a moment of, 'Ah it's over, I'll never be able to get in the ring with 'Taker,'" Sting said. "Because he's lost doesn't mean he's done or leaving. I can't imagine 'Taker leaving or being done. I just cannot imagine that. I don't know what's going on with him for sure but man, I think 'Taker vs. Sting doesn't need a Streak storyline. We just need 'Taker and Sting and that's it."

Sting also talked about the fans having no issues remembering the former WCW and TNA icon.

"Based on what happened at Comic Con and what happened today on the panel for WWE 2K15, it doesn't seem like there's any kind of issue," Sting said. "It seems like they all know, they're all aware, they're all excited."

Sting also touched on whether or not there are other Superstars on the roster that he wants to face.

"I think a guy from my generation, it only makes sense not to just me but wrestling fans too, to see me wrestle someone from my generation," he said. "Someone I've never wrestled most importantly. I think that would be the first choice for wrestling fans too."

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena, who dropped the title to Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam Sunday night, discussed potentially facing Sting.

"If I'm in that mix fine," Cena said. "I speak as a fan, I just want to see him in the ring. I think he has to have a WWE match for the whole circle to be complete. I don't care if it's me, Undertaker or Brooklyn Brawler. Obviously, I'd absolutely love it to be me, but I just want to see him have a match."

There are rumors that Sting may have a match at WrestleMania 31 this March in Santa Clara, Calif. and it could include a Hall of Fame induction, but who he faces and if it comes to fruition remains to be seen.
