Notre Dame wide receiver DaVaris Daniels insists he writes his own academic papers in light of the school's investigation on academic fraud.

CBS Sports is reporting that the Fighting Irish's leading returning receiver maintained this stance to Notre Dame officials in an interview this week, citing a source close to the player.

Daniels is one of the four Irish players who are being investigated by the school. The others are defensive end Ishaq Williams, linebacker Kendall Moore and cornerback KeiVarae Russell.

The CBS source was quoted as saying: "He said he wrote all his papers. They asked him about some emails and papers that he wrote. He told them what he knew."

Daniels recorded 49 catches for 745 yards and seven touchdowns last season. He was projected to be quarterback Everett Golson's top target in 2014.

On Friday, athletic director Jack Swarbrick said the school is conducting the inventory see where it leads and that it is ready to vacate its wins where the players involved participated in.

Notre Dame said it has evidence that the players submitted papers written for them.

The same CBS source also revealed that emails from a mutual friend of the players are likely to be part of the investigation. Daniels himself will insist that he sought help for punctuation but he wrote the paper himself.

Daniels was suspended for the spring semester after he failed to maintain a proper grade-point average, according to the source. Daniels had also discussed his suspension to CBSSports.com last February.
