Heat Clinch NBA's Best Record: Miami Cruises Past Wizards Without 'Big 3'

The Miami Heat clinched the NBA's best record for the 2012-13 season in a 103-98 win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. Miami cruised past Washington even without their "Big Three" of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

Ray Allen led the way with a game-high 23 points, while also recording six rebounds, four assists and three steals. Allen returned to action for Miami on Wednesday after missing the previous game with an ankle injury.

Uncharacteristically, Allen shot just 1-for-7 from the 3-point area. However, Miami picked up the slack by going a combined 16-for-34 from long distance.

The Heat have now won four straight games, also reaching a franchise best 62 wins for the season, passing the 1996-97 team's record of 61. Miami will have four remaining games to close out the 2012-13 NBA season, including a Friday night matchup against the Boston Celtics at 7:30 P.M. ET.

Fans can view that game on the NBA TV channel or on NBA.com with a paid subscription.
