No. 1 Novak Djokovic will not win his ninth ATP tournament as he lost to No. 16 Tommy Robredo 7-6 (6), 7-5 on Friday. Roberedo spoke about the victory and said that this will be the one he tells his children about.
"When I finish my career, and when I will be sitting at home and talking with friends, I will remember days like this," Robredo said.
The final eight on the men’s draw include a No. 8 Andy Murray and No. 2 Roger Federer matchup. Roberedo will face No.6 David Ferrer in the next round.
On the women’s side, No. 1 Serena Williams will face No. 8 Jelena Jankovic Friday as she looks to advance into the final four players. No. 5 Maria Sharapova and No. 2 Simona Halep will face off for the right to advance and No. 4 Agnieszka Radwanska and No. 12 Caroline Wozniacki face off as well.
