There seems to be conflicting reports on the rules of the Flag Match between Jack Swagger and Rusev for Sunday night's SummerSlam event that emanates live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
WWE SmackDown Spoiiers For Friday
WWE announcer John "Bradshaw" Layfield mentioned on Monday Night RAW that the match could be won by submission, but a traditional Flag Match usually has the flag of each competitor's country suspended on opposite turnbuckles and the first man to grab their flag is the winner.
The WWE.com preview for the match has it listed as the traditional rules, but JBL said that the match could be won by submission as well.
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross Praises Monday's RAW
Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that a source within WWE notes that the plan for the match may be that whoever gets the pin or submission will have their national anthem play, which isn't the traditional Flag Match stipulation.
It is possible that the WWE hasn't made up their minds as to what the rules will be for the match come Sunday.
The show is headlined by the WWE World Heavyweight Championship bout pitting John Cena against the challenger Brock Lesnar in the main event. Two other titles will be decided as The Miz puts his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee defends her Divas Championship against Paige.
Two other high-profile matches on the card include Roman Reigns taking on Randy Orton and Seth Rollins battling Dean Ambrose in a Lumberjack Match.
There are other primary matches on the card, including Stephanie McMahon battling Brie Bella and Chris Jericho going toe-to-toe with Bray Wyatt in a match that will have Luke Harper and Erick Rowan banned from ringside.
