WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross is back at Jrsbarbq.com with another blog where he heaps praise on the WWE for the go-home edition of Monday Night RAW that showcased the last buildup before SummerSlam on Sunday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Update On CM Punk Being Included In WWE 2K15 And His WWE Status

Ross enjoyed the final segment of the night where the company celebrated Hulk Hogan's 61st birthday by surrounding him with the entire roster and some legends that included Ric Flair, Paul Orndorff, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Scott Hall and Kevin Nash.

"WWE is to be commended on their production values on such presentations like Hulk Hogan's 61st birthday party," Ross wrote. "It wasn't [overdone] and had enough "dirty looks" from some of the great stars in the ring and potential angle alerts to make it fun."

Alberto Del Rio Slated To Appear At AAA Event In Mexico On SummerSlam Sunday

Ross also liked how the WWE had Brock Lesnar interrupt the festivities before being thwarted off by John Cena, in a nice build toward their main event match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam.

"Again, the birthday party for Hogan tied together well with Lesnar vs. Cena at [SummerSlam]," Ross blogged. "This should be a great show Sunday if the matches have the time to tell viable stories. However, when in [L.A.] the WWE generally goes "Hollywood" and I'd expect this Sunday to be much of the same. That's cool but give me my wrestling."

Ross also addressed the promo conducted by Lesnar and his manager Paul Heyman at the top of the show, once again praising Heyman for his fantastic string of promos recently.

"Paul Heyman has become pure gold on the mic but that isn't a revelation or new news," he wrote. "The first segment with Heyman and Brock Lesnar was excellent. Lesnar has become Sasquatch. If Lesnar doesn't win the WWE World Title Sunday in [L.A.] at [SummerSlam], I will be surprised. This championship should be a match dotted with physicality. Hey, who knows. perhaps WWE goes the surprise route because so many folks including me think that Lesnar should be the champion regardless of his schedule."

Ross touched on the match between Stephanie McMahon and Brie Bella that the WWE has built up as a major event for SummerSlam.

"The Stephanie-Brie Bella story has been well done even though the segment with the physical therapist Monday night on RAW was a little long for my taste but I'm looking forward to watching them in the ring Sunday and expect some surprises. (Angle Alert!)," he blogged.

Ross also looked at the final tune-up for Roman Reigns before his match with Randy Orton on Sunday as he defeated Curtis Axel and Ryback in a handicap match.

"Reigns wins by disqualification which did not bother me as it was explained by the announcers and then the apparent next, "it" guy made his physical presence felt to both Ryback and Axel and the last thing people see is generally what they remember. Reigns rolled and that's what I remember," Ross said.

WWE SummerSlam takes place live this Sunday from the Staples Center in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. ET.
