Danny Garcia improved to 29-0-0 with 17 knockouts on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn after viciously beating an overmatched Rod Salka in less than two rounds and retaining his WBA and WBC light welterweight titles.
On the undercard, fellow light welterweight champion Lamont Peterson, who holds the IBF belt, won almost as easily vs. Edgar Santana.

Many fans and writers wondered aloud why Garcia and Peterson weren't fighting each other in a unification bout-and while both won easily there weren't any guarantees made of a Garcia-Peterson clash in the future.
"I want to fight anybody my management (Al Haymon, who also handles Peterson) puts in front of me. My job is to fight," Garcia said post-fight. "I came here and I got the win. I would have beaten anybody. I'll fight anybody."
Garcia potential future opponent for Manny Pacquiao?
After defeating Santana Peterson also expressed hope of a fight with Garcia, but offered little in the way of assurance. "I hope so. I wanted to do it but at the end of the day it has to make sense, so I'm going to stay busy and shake out a few problems I had tonight," Peterson said.
Golden Boy vice president Eric Gomez did tell ESPN that making Garcia-Peterson happen was a priority. "We've talked about it. [Garcia is] available and he's willing to fight him. Lamont said he wants to fight Danny. It's a fight we're going to talk about [for] this year, early next year, whatever."
Garcia also said that Peterson may be having second thoughts about wanting to fight him after watching what happened to Salka. "I don't think he still wants to fight me after watching my performance," Garcia said.
"We fought similar kinds of opponents and I made a statement. He was supposed to come here and make more of a statement. I'm going to keep entertaining and keep busy but we can fight."
