The 2013 Premier League season is in the books. Now, Chelsea FC return to the pitch with hopes of embarking on a league-title run in 2014. The club is continuing its summer tour this afternoon and will face Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros. The club friendly scheduled for 1:45 p.m. ET will be held at Ferencvaros Arena in Budapest and can be live streamed here.
After failing to collect silverware in his return to Stamford Bridge, the pressures to succeed have intensified for Jose Mourinho. The Chelsea Boss has benefited from prominent transfers including Diego Costa, Filipe Luis and Cesc Fabregas this summer. The infusion of talent, coupled with the pressures to succeed, make Mourinho the preeminent threat in the Premier League according to former England head coach Gary Neville.
"This year, he knows he has to deliver it," Neville said (via the Independent). "And he's a dangerous man. He usually wins when he has to. Last year, Mourinho was trying to pinch a league and probably should have done better with the points they dropped. The additions of Costa and Drogba as an understudy who might play 15 matches are important."
"They really struggled up front last season," he added. " [Fernando] Torres, [Samuel] Eto'o and [Demba] Ba fell short of what's required at the highest level and it cost them. The rest of the team didn't look too bad."
For this afternoon, the rest of the team is projected to be as follows (4-2-3-1): Cech; Azpilicueta, Cahill, Terry, Luis; Matic, Fabregas; Schurrle, Hazard, Salah; Costa
