Two clubs chasing the Apertura Liga MX title will do battle today in a league match between Cruz Azul and Puebla. Following a scoreless draw against Veracruz last Saturday, manager Luis Fernando Tena fielded questions regarding his side's inability to secure a victory at home. The Cruz Azul boss, however, is asking for patience ahead of today's clash against Puebla. "In regard to us not being able to secure a result at home: Again, our team played with great enthusiasm and determination," Tena said (via Vavel). "But that's not exactly bringing us anticipation and anxiety. There has to be tremendous patience, but our fans will be bothered."
"We have to talk to our players about that aspect [our form] and work with coordinating movement off the ball, so we can come with a more defined attack," he added. "Your criticisms are welcome."
A victory at home against Puebla is what ultimately be welcomed by Cruz Azul.
Tactical Preview
Player to Watch: Cruz Azul's Marco Fabian is yet to find his form for the club this season. In three appearances thus far, the 25-year-old is yet to create a single scoring opportunity, let alone polish off one of his own. He'll look to rectify that at the Estadio Azul this evening.
