LOS ANGELES GALAXY vs. SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES Live Stream FREE Online: 2014 MLS Standings, Live Coverage From Los Angeles, Projected Lineups and TACTICAL PREVIEW

Two clubs in the Western Conference of MLS will do battle today in a league match between the Los Angeles Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes. The first-division clash scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET will be held at the StubHub Center in Los Angeles and can be live streamed here free. Additional TV coverage can be found on NBC Sports.

Though tonight's match will feature two heated rivals on the national stage, all focus will center on the news of Landon Donovan's impending retirement. The 32-year-old announced on Thursday his intention to hang his boots upon the end of the 2014 season, leaving behind 15 years of prominent football.

"After careful deliberation and many conversations with those closest to me, I have decided that this will be my last year as a professional soccer player," said Donovan (via the Galaxy's official website). "It has been more than anything I could have dreamed of to represent the LA Galaxy, the San Jose Earthquakes, Everton, U.S. Soccer and Major League Soccer throughout my career. There are so many people I want to thank who have inspired me, guided me and helped me on this incredible journey. I simply could not have accomplished what I did during my playing career without an overwhelming amount of support from my family, my friends and many others."

"I plan to express my gratitude to everyone in a more detailed manner at a later date," he added. "However, for now, I want to single out the fans. You are the lifeblood of this sport and, without you, none of us would be fortunate to call ourselves professional soccer players in MLS."

Player to Watch: Enjoy him now while you can. In 17 appearances with the Galaxy this season, Donovan has contributed four goals, five assists and an average of 2.9 key passes per match.
