The Los Angeles placed ace Jered Weaver (0-1) on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a fractured elbow on his non-throwing arm, according to ESPNLosAngeles.com The team told ESPN that Weaver is expected to miss at least four weeks due to the injury, which Los Angeles termed a left non-displaced radial head fracture

The 30-year-old pitcher suffered the injury Sunday against the Rangers after jamming his non-throwing arm while dodging a line drive in the sixth inning off the bat of Mitch Moreland. "Pretty painful. It feels a little swollen in there," Weaver told ESPN after Sunday's game. "I can't move it around too good right now. It's strange. Kind of like jamming your thumb."

Weaver immediately grabbed his arm near the elbow after suffering the injury. Manager Mike Scioscia and a trainer rushed to the field and the pitcher was taken out to to be evaluated. Sunday's X-rays were negative but the fracture was discovered in later tests.

In 2012, Weaver went 20-5 and had a 2.81 ERA in 188.2 innings pitched while recording 142 strikeouts. The pitcher has a 102-53 career record and a 3.25 ERA.
