Boasting an embarrassment of riches at goalkeeper, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly found a solution, agreeing on principle with AC Milan to send Diego Lopez to the San Siro on loan until 2015. Per Kicker (via Goal Transfer Talk), Lopez agreeing to the deal remains the final obstacle.

Given the 32-year-old's propensity to deny any exit from the Santiago Bernabeu, that final obstacle will be a frustrating one for Milan. Per Ben Hayward (via Goal), Lopez has gone as far as telling Real Madrid's front office that they're making a mistake in dismissing his talents.
"I'm the best goalkeeper here and you know it," the shot-stopper said.

Unfortunately for Lopez, the numbers aren't in agreement. Especially with the newly acquired Keylor Navas joining the fray.
Last season with Levante, Navas averaged an impressive 3.81 saves per match and 3.71 saves per goal conceded. By comparison, Lopez finished with 2.11 saves for both categories. Additionally, he finished by behind Navas in clean sheets. Only former Atletico Madrid keeper Thibaut Courtois (20) secured more than the Costa Rican's tally of 17.
Desperate for consistent goalkeeping of their own, Milan would benefit greatly from Lopez's arrival. With a crowded crop of goalkeepers currently occupying Ancelotti's depth chart, he would be better served transferring services to the Italian giant. At least there, he would truly be the "best goalkeeper."
