Batista has taken a hiatus from the WWE since June to promote the Guardians of the Galaxy movie that is in theatres now in which he plays "Drax The Destroyer," and he recently spoke about the movie's success and WWE topics.

Paul Heyman Says CM Punk Is Done With Wrestling And WWE Is Done With Him

"The Animal" talked to Chad Dukes of CBS Radio's 106.7 The Fan in Washington, D.C. and ChadDukesWrestling.com about working as a babyface, Roman Reigns being the next big star in the WWE and the success of his movie thus far.

Batista was brought in as a babyface and reports indicated the original plans were for him to win the Royal Rumble match and then defeat Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX in April.

After the crowd turned on Batista during his Rumble win, the WWE flipped the script and had Daniel Bryan defeat Orton and Batista in a triple threat match for the gold at the biggest show of the year.

Batista discussed enjoying working as a heel rather than a face as he eventually was turned into a heel despite the WWE's original plans for a babyface push.

"I'll be honest with you, I just don't want it," Batista said about being a face. "I love being a heel, man, you know that. I think I'm the guy that people love to boo and I'm okay with that and I love being heel. I'm the worst babyface in the history of wrestling. [Laughs] I'm just not good at it. When you do promos sometimes you gotta say things that people wanna hear instead of telling them things they should hear. You know it's hard for me to be that guy always saying the politically correct thing. I just don't like it I'm not comfortable with it."

Batista also discussed Reigns rising as the next big star after the program with Evolution and The Shield saw the Hounds of Justice come out on top in two straight six-man tag matches before the trio was split up with Seth Rollins' heel turn.

"The guy's obviously, he's a huge star, he's gonna be a huge star," Batista said about Reigns. "I feel like if they push him out there before he's ready, it's gonna put a fizzle on everything, man, I'd just hate to see that. I think they should have kept [The Shield] together a little bit longer. Let 'em have that babyface run just a little bit longer."

"The Animal" also touched on the box office success for Guardians of the Galaxy after opening weekend.

"It's just as big of a surprise to me as it is to you," he said of the success. "I knew it was going to be great, I just didn't know how people were going to accept my take on Drax. I just don't think it was what people were expecting. Are they gonna love him or are they gonna hate him?"

Batista is slated to return to the WWE at some point, but it's unknown when his hiatus will end. It was originally reported he'd be back for SummerSlam on Aug. 17 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, but with the event less than two weeks away, it appears "The Animal" will not be back to have a match on the card.
