The New York Yankees (3-4) opened their series against the Cleveland Indians (3-4) with an 11-6 road win at Progressive Field on Monday. The Yankees saw a strong performance from second baseman Robinson Cano, who bounced out of an early season slump with a strong performance at the plate.

Cano went 3-4 with two home runs, two RBIs, a double and a walk. The 2012 silver slugger award winner entered the game at 3-for-23 for the season before Monday's impressive turnaround performance.

The Yankees also saw a strong performance from Travis Hafner, who spent 10 years with Cleveland before joining the Yankees this offseason. Hafner hit a three-run home run in the first inning to begin the Yankee dominance before going 2-3 with two walks and four RBIs.

Hiroki Kuroda (1-1) shook off a 34-pitch performance from Tuesday that was cut short when a line drive bruised the starter's hand early in the Yankee's second game of the season against Boston. Kuroda pitched 5.1 innings and allowed three earned runs off of five hits, four walks and six strikeouts.
