Rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel got reps with the Cleveland Browns first team Monday during a scrimmage. It was the first time Manziel was worked with the starters.
Based on initial reports, Manziel's performance was mixed. According to ESPN.com, Manziel completed a 40-yard pass to wide receiver Travis Benjamin.
The pass was slightly under-thrown, but Benjamin was able to come back and catch it. Manziel also had a pass, intended for WR Josh Gordon, picked off by safety Donte Whitner.
Browns head coach Mike Pettine has said that he would give the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner a chance to play with the first-string offense at some point during preseason camp. Mnaziel is battling veteran QB Brian Hoyer for the Browns starting job.
