Backstage Reaction And Update On WWE's Budget Cuts And Releases

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that Sting has been added to the WWE 2K15 roster reveal panel and that he will be joining host "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and panelist members WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena, Roman Reigns, Cesaro and Sheamus.

Cena took to Twitter to reveal a sneak peak of his character in WWE 2K15.

WWE Monday Night RAW Preview And Rumors

Sting has joined the WWE family by inking a deal with 2K Sports to be a playable character as "black and white" and "surfer" Sting for those who pre-order the WWE 2K15 video game that is due out in October. Sting has also signed a deal with Mattel for an action figure and the WWE is releasing his merchandise due to the fact that they have the rights since they bought out WCW in 2001.

While all this has happened, Sting has reportedly yet to sign a physical talent contract with the WWE despite rumors that he may have one final match -- and his first with WWE -- somewhere down the line, possibly at WrestleMania 31 in March.

It is expected that on top of his appearance at the panel, Sting will meet with WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon in-person to hopefully iron out the details on a talent contract during SummerSlam weekend on Aug. 16 and 17.

Sting is a long-time WCW and TNA icon, but has never appeared in the WWE. Former WWE Superstar and current TNA wrestler Mr. Anderson spoke about Sting joining the WWE and was asked whether or not he told TNA he was jumping ship.

"No, he didn't make any mention," Anderson told CBS New York. "This is the nature of our business. The wrestling business... people come and people go. It's sort of been that way forever."

It has been widely speculated that Sting will have a match at WrestleMania 31 and that it might go along with a Hall of Fame induction next March. Sting has been open about wanting to wrestle in the WWE in what would be his final match, and he has made it no secret that he wants to face The Undertaker.

There were rumors Sting would face 'Taker at WrestleMania XXX last April, but the WWE opted to go with Brock Lesnar, who subsequently was booked to defeat The Undertaker and ended The Streak while simultaneously injuring the dead man.

With 'Taker's career up in the air, it is uncertain if he'll wrestle again at WrestleMania and if Sting does in fact wrestle a match, he may have to face a different opponent than 'Taker.

While Sting doesn't have a talent contract yet, his inclusion on the SummerSlam panel and expected meeting with McMahon points to the fact that things are looking up as far as Sting wrestling one final match is concerned.
