Manchester City defeated first-place rival Manchester United 2-1 in Premier League action at Old Trafford stadium on Monday. The win marks the first time the blues have won in back-to-back derby wins at Old Trafford for the first time in 41 years.

With the loss, United falls for the first time since November, ending their 18-match unbeaten run and saw their Premier League advantage over Man City cut to 12 points. "We showed we deserved to stay closer to the title but it is finished," City manager Roberto Mancini told ESPNFC.com.

Sergio Aguero, the man whose goal won the Premier League championship over United last season, kicked the game winning goal in the then-1-1 tie. United's only goal was scored by Vincent Kompany, who responded to James Milner and City's second-half opening goal after a scoreless first half from both teams.

Despite the loss, United are still favored to win their 20th English leage title. Man U is 25-4-2 overall and had a 16-0-2 record in league play since their Nov. 17 1-0 loss to Norwich.
