Two clubs chasing the Apertura Liga MX title will do battle today in a league match between Toluca and the Pumas of UNAM. The first-division clash scheduled for 1 p.m. ET will be held at the Estadio Nemesio Diez in Toluca and can be live streamed here free via the Univision Deportes mobile app. Additional TV coverage can be found on Univision.
One draw. One defeat. One goal. That has defined Toluca's Apertura campaign to this point, seeing the club near the bottom of the Liga MX table. Though months remain in the season, an unsettling feeling has hit manager Jose Cardozo.
"Nobody here is calm because we all want to win and fight to the top," Cardozo said (via Azteca Deportes). "We haven't started well, that is clear. Not in the league nor in the cup competition. Unfortunately, we haven't been sharp enough."
"We've been in the final third plenty of times and we just haven't finished," he added. "And when you don't finish, you start getting frustrated. Then, the opposition gets one chance and capitalizes."
Toluca will look to finally finish their chances at home this afternoon.
