Two clubs looking to return to form will do battle today in a friendly between Benfica and Valencia. The match scheduled for 9 a.m. ET will be held at Emirates Stadium in London and can be live streamed here free.
After finishing 90 minutes of inspired football against AS Monaco deadlocked at two, midfielder Dani Parejo was pleased with what he saw from his side. The victory was not captured, but overall, the club was satisfied with its performance. "We knew we were going to face a great team who would require a lot of us," Parejo said (via Inside Spanish Football). "It's our first really strong opponent of the preseason. We played a game we can truly be happy about. The team has the ability and we're feeling very good."
"After we went up 2-1, we had three or four really clear chances to kill the game," he added. "We weren't able to take advantage and it ended in a draw and that's why we're a little hurt, because we all would've liked to win, but we are satisfied with the work we did."
Valencia will have one final opportunity against Benfica to capture complete satisfaction.
