Two clubs looking to return to form will do battle today in a friendly between Arsenal and AS Monaco. The match scheduled for 8:20 a.m. ET will be held at Emirates Stadium in London and can be live streamed here free.
Having dispatched Benfica by a staggering 5-1 scoreline just 24 hours prior, Arsenal return to the pitch this afternoon to polish off the 2014 Emirates Cup. Young starlets Yaya Sanogo and Joel Campbell will likely not feature in a starting role today, but that didn't keep manager Arsene Wenger from singing their praises following yesterday's victory.
"They need to play of course," Wenger said (via Sky Sports). "But they need to play here. Sanogo came last year on a free and we worked very hard for six months with him and from January onwards he was slowly getting better. Now that we have worked very hard with him, we want him to stay here."
"Campbell has done very well," he added. "I like the way he plays. He is good on the ball, creative and collectively as well he has a good balance between individual skill and collective attitude. That's not easy to find and there is no reason to let him go."
After yesterday's performance, there's no reason for Arsenal to finish the afternoon without the 2014 Emirates Cup crown, either.
