Ortiz spoke with Cagesideseats.com about having plans with Carter to return to the company sometime this month or in September.

"I'm actually returning August or September," Ortiz said. "I'll be coming back to TNA and doing some stuff. It's in the works with Dixie. She reached out to me and I'm a big wrestling fan. I've been a wrestling fan since Junkyard Dog! We have some ideas."

While Ortiz is slated to return in the fall, it may be a tumultuous time for TNA as reports have surfaced that despite ongoing negotiations, Spike TV may drop TNA Impact Wrestling from its schedule in October when its contract expires.

Ortiz touched on the situation and seemed confident the network -- which is run by parent company Viacom that also airs Bellator MMA -- will keep airing Impact Wrestling come October.

"I think Spike TV needs pro wrestling on there," he said. "I know they have a big fan base. Maybe it's all just negotiations, back-and-forth with money. It's a business and I understand that, so we'll see what happens."

Ortiz, who appeared in TNA sporadically in 2005 and then again in 2013, seems excited to get back into the wrestling realm. The UFC Hall of Famer and former amateur wrestler should be back in the fold for TNA sometime in the coming months.
