Basketball Hall Of Fame: Rick Pitino Headlines Class of Seven Inductees

Louisville head coach Rick Pitino headlines a class of seven inductees that will be elected to the 2013 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, according to ESPN.com. Pitino, who will coach Louisville in the NCAA championship game Monday night, joins a class that includes former NBA starts Bernard King and Gary Payton, former UNLV coach Jerry Tarkanian, North Carolina women's coach Sylvia Hatchell, former University of Houston coach Guy Lewis and former University of Virginia star Dawn Staley.

Pitino owns 27 years of experience coaching in the college ranks. With a 661-235 career record, Pitino has won .738 percent of his games while coaching at Boston University (91-51), Providence (42-23), Kentucky (219-50) and Louisville (309-111).

Pitino has reached the NCAA Tournament 18 times and has seven final four appearances, as well as a national championship with Kentucky in 1996. He has nine regular season conference championships and eleven tournament conference championships over his illustrious career.
