Cross ‘The Donald’ off the list of potential Buffalo Bills owners as Donald Trump publicly stated that it is "very, very unlikely” that he will be the team's next owner.

Trump was asked about his status in the sale of the Buffalo Bills and Trump wasn't so confident that he would be the team's owner when it was all said and done.

"We'll see what happens. Everyone knows I'm bidding," he said "But many other people will be bidding. I would say the chances are very, very unlikely because I'm not going to do something totally stupid -- maybe a little bit stupid, but not totally stupid.”

Trump was one of the first names to come out and state his claim on the team and said he would love to end up with the team. Trump is one of many public icons that are potential buyers of the Bills, others include rock star Jon Bon Jovi, current Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula and former Sabres owner Tom Golisano.

Now that Trump considers himself out of the running, it looks like the sale will come down to a bidding war between Bon Jovi and Pegula. Bon Jovi and his Toronto-based group have said that they have no intention of moving the Bills from Buffalo to Canada, but recently there have been reports of the group looking into potential Toronto locations.

The Bills should have a new owner by the end of August and will be presented to NFL owners for approval during league meetings in early October.
