The Chicago Cubs (2-1) and the Atlanta Braves (2-1) open up a weekend series at Turner Field in Atlanta with both teams looking to earn their third win of the season. Chicago boasts an improved pitching staff that has helped the team earn their first series win to start a season in four years.

The Cubs saw starters Jeff Samardzija, Edwin Jackson and Travis Wood post a combined 0.95 ERA during their series at Pittsburgh. Though it's just three games, it's an improvement from the 4.52 collective ERA Chicago's starters posted last year, third-worst in the NL.

The Cubs will rely on starter Scott Feldman to continue the rotations new-found success. Feldman went 39-44 with a 4.81 ERA over eight years with Texas before signing a one-year deal with Chicago during the offseason.

Atlanta will have left-hander Mike Minor on the hill on Friday night. Minor ended the second half of the 2012 season with a 6-4 record and a 2.16 ERA in 14 starts after the All-Star break following a disappointing spring in which he went 2-1 with a 6.26 ERA in six starts.
