Amir Khan has been angling for a scrap with Floyd Mayweather Jr. since early 2014, but he's also making contingency plans in case Mayweather never decides to give him a title shot. During an interview with The Telegraph, Khan named one other fighter he has on his list.

"If the Mayweather fight happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. It's one of those fights I wanted and everyone else wanted. I really believe the speed could have given him a lot of problems," Khan said.

Khan vs. Pacquiao a 50-50 fight?

"Manny Pacquiao is another name. What a great story line that would make. Amir Khan fighting his old sparring partner and friend, Manny Pacquiao. Freddie Roach used to train me, so there's a lot of history there. That would be a huge fight. I know what to expect from Manny Pacquiao. We used to get the better of him in sparring and everything. Manny Pacquiao is still the same fighter. I still have a lot of respect for him, he's a great fighter, but these are the fights I want."

Pacquiao is slated to face Chris Algieri in China on November 22, while Mayweather's locked into a rematch with Marcos Maidana in Las Vegas on September 13. Khan does have several options though before the year expires, and another impressive win may be enough to land him the Mayweather match he dreams of.

Floyd Mayweather Sr. wants Floyd Jr. to fight Pacquiao?

"For December we're looking at a few names, the likes of Alexander, Guerrero. [Andre] Berto has also been mentioned but we train together, so that would be quite hard. I like Berto, he's a good friend of mine. But I'm one of those guys - I'll never say 'no' to a fight. I'll take whoever they decide to put me against."

After back-to-back losses at the end of 2011 into 2012 Khan's career had been trending downward, but he's responded with four consecutive victories. His latest over Luis Collazo on the undercard of the first Mayweather-Maidana clash was a rout in his welterweight debut.
