Two clubs chasing the Apertura Liga MX title will do battle today in a league match between Tigres UANL and Leon. An own-goal ultimately decided Leon's season opener against Club America, with goalkeeper William Yarbrough carrying a save into his own net. Manager Gustavo Matosas, however, directed his post-match comments at the opposition, praising them for their efforts. "America did a good job," Matosas said (via Fox Sports LA). "We were dominating the first half, but they ended up finding goals."
When asked about the comical lapse from his goalkeeper, the Uruguayan added: "Not for nothing, but he's the starting goalkeeper of a two-time champion."
As pointed out by Matosas, one error doesn't define a season. Yarbrough and company now turn to Tigres UANL to rebound.

Player to Watch: Leon's Mauro Boselli continued his scoring form in the 2014 Apertura, providing the club its only goal in the 2-1 loss to Club America. He'll look for more of the same in San Nicolas tonight.
