Two clubs looking to return to form will do battle today in a friendly between AS Roma and Manchester United. The match scheduled for 4 p.m. ET will be held at Sports Authority Field in Denver and can be live streamed here free. Additional TV coverage can be found on ESPN Deportes.
After undressing MLS outfit the Los Angeles Galaxy in his managerial debut, Manchester United's Louis van Gaal hailed his men. The Dutchman, though surprised with his team's effort, credited the performance to impeccable work ethic during training.
"The result always matters," van Gaal said (via the Guardian). "With such a result you get confidence, and confidence in a new system. We introduced a new system and played two times on the training pitch 11v11. It is not so much, but the boys are willing to pick up the information."
"It is fantastic how they have performed," he added. "Last week, 10 players who played tonight were not even in our training complex. When you see us train, you can expect something, but not 7-0. It was a surprise, but they were also beautiful goals."
