The WWE presents its biggest pay-per-view of the summer as SummerSlam emanates from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, Aug. 17. The main event of Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship is the only match that has been announced so far and Sports World News will try to project the card for the second biggest show of the year.

Batista Believes CM Punk Will Return To WWE

Some of these projections are based on WWE rumors, while others are what we would do if we were running the show.

Aside from Lesnar vs. Cena, there have been rumors that Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton and Stephanie McMahon vs. Brie Bella will be on the card as the company has planted those seeds already on television.

Daniel Bryan Provides Injury Update At Comic Con

Wyatt and Jericho will likely clash in a rematch from Battleground while in our booking scenario McMahon will battle Bella in a match where if Bella wins, she'll earn her job back and Orton will have Kane in his corner against Roman Reigns.

Given the fact that rumors are flying that Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan will appear at SummerSlam, in our booking scenario they will be in the corner of Reigns to offset Kane and The Authority in that match.

There are rumors that WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz will battle United States Champion Sheamus at SummerSlam, possibly in a title unification match, but such a match would make more sense at Night of Champions in September.

Given the fact that The Miz has also been involved with Bo Dallas and Dolph Ziggler earned a pinfall victory over him on RAW, it is likely a Fatal 4 Way in some capacity involving Miz, Sheamus, Ziggler and Dallas will happen.

In our booking scenario, we'll steal a page from WrestleMania 2000 and have a two-fall match -- one for each title - where the titles swap as The Miz leaves as U.S. Champion and Sheamus as Intercontinental Champion, setting up a title unification match at Night of Champions.

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose have yet to officially cross paths since their Battleground match got canceled, so they'll likely clash on Aug. 17, and in our scenario, there should be a No Holds Barred stipulation added.

Given the fact that Rusev has had a history with Jack Swagger and the new trio of Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, it seems like a perfect time to have a classic six-man tag team match at SummerSlam based on the fact that the show has a rich history of solid six-man tag team matches.

In this scenario, Woods would join Zeb Colter in managing the face team of Swagger, Big E and Kingston and Rusev would team (reluctantly) with Cesaro and Damien Sandow, who would dress up as some sort of foreigner to continue his current gimmick.

As for the WWE Tag Team Championships, The Usos have clashed with Erick Rowan and Luke Harper and beaten them on two consecutive pay-per-views, so adding Goldust and Stardust and Ryback and Curtis Axel to the mix would work while the split of Ryback and Axel can continue to get teased.

Elsewhere, for the Divas Championship, Paige and AJ Lee would face off in a Lumberjill Match to get all of the Divas involved while Fandango and Adam Rose would go head-to-head in the pre-show.
