Since returning from back surgery, Tiger Woods has been terrible in his limited time on the course. However, Tiger’s ability to draw a crown makes him a valuable asset and Jack Nicklaus believes that is enough to earn him a Ryder Cup slot.

Nicklaus was asked about the state of the Ryder Cup roster and said that a roster that doesn't include Tiger Woods is one that wasn't chosen correctly.

“I couldn't imagine a Ryder Cup team without him, unless he's done nothing between now and then with his game.

If I were the captain I would be hard pressed, I don't care what he does. If he wants to play I would choose him, and I would guess Tom (Watson) feels the same way. Anybody in their right mind, unless (Woods) doesn't want to play, would choose him."

Woods is currently 70th in Ryder Cup points after his dreadful Open Championship where he finished 69th with his worst 72-hole score of his career. Team captain Tom Watson has three picks to make for the team and he will have until September 2 to make his final decision.

It is unknown what Watson’s plan is when it comes to his three selections, but there is a strong case for both outcomes she it comes to Tiger Woods.
