The Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks begin training camp Friday in defense of their title, but a key player isn't expected to be on hand. Running back Marshawn Lynch plans not to attend, former teammate Michael Robinson said Thursday on The NFL Network.
"Marshawn Lynch just called me, we just talked," Robinson said. "He said he will be holding out from training camp this year with the Seahawks."
The Seahawks have known of Lynch's intent for several days, according to an NFL.com report. Seattle reportedly will not pay Lynch if he holds out.
The #Seahawks learned in the last few days that Marshawn Lynch would hold out for camp. And no, they still don’t plan on paying him.

He will forfeit $30,000 for each day of his holdout.
Lynch is currently under a four-year, $30 million contract that he and Seattle agreed to in 2012. He is slated to earn $5.5 million this year.
But Lynch, a key figure in the Seahawks offensive arsenal, wants to renegotiate his contract. Sources close to Lynch say he is seeking a contract extension.
The Seahawks have agreed to contract extensions with cornerback Richard Sherman [$57.4 million over four years] and safety Earl Thomas [$40 million over four years].
Seattle, however, has yet to indicate it is willing to enter into contract extension talks with Lynch. The 5-foot-11, 215-pound Lynch ran for 1,257 yards on 301 carries last season. He scored 12 touchdowns during the campaign.
