Two clubs looking to return to form will do battle today in a friendly between the Los Angeles Galaxy and Manchester United. The 2014 Chevrolet Cup scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET will be held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena and can be live streamed here free. Additional TV coverage can be found on Fox Sports 1.
Though the contest is a mere friendly, the excitement surrounding this clash of perennial powers has led to a capacity crowd in Pasadena. Reportedly, 50,000-plus are expected to fill the Rose Bowl this evening, allowing many members of the Galaxy to fulfill life-long dreams.
"It is exciting," Landon Donovan said (via Soccerly). "I think for our guys, we don't often have a chance to play against a team like this, and we don't get to play in front of 60,000 or 70,000 people all the time, so it will be exciting. I expect the game is going to look like a real soccer game. I don't imagine Manchester United coming here with new players and a new manager to just go through the motions. I think every one of them is clearly playing for a spot on the team, and it's going to make for a very good game."
Defender Omar Gonzalez added: "The thrill is always there when you face up against such storied clubs."
