Two clubs looking to return to form will do battle today in a friendly between FC Dallas and Aston Villa. The match scheduled for 9 p.m. ET will be held at FC Dallas Stadium in Dallas and can be live streamed here free.
For some, the burden of an international friendly is too much to endure. After all, it is ultimately 90 minutes of meaningless football. But for FC Dallas head coach Oscar Pareja, tonight's friendly against Aston Villa is another opportunity for his players to showcase their abilities.
"We already have a plan for the game," Pareja said of the friendly (via Sporting News). "We want some players to have some minutes. We take this with a lot of responsibility since it is a very high-character team that is coming to our town. Our fans, we want them to come and enjoy the game, be proud about our club. So, the approach for that game is professional."
"I think we can do it [handle the extra football]," he added. "We have a game on Sunday, so that buys us a little bit more time to recover, but the standards that these players have put in for themselves are high. They're now thinking about Wednesday, and I like that."
