John Cena is due to miss some time from the company due to filming movies, and there has reportedly been some talk backstage about the WWE World Heavyweight Champion leaving the company at some point to pursue acting full-time.

John Cena Reacts To SummerSlam Match Against Brock Lesnar

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, there have been some people backstage speculating that if Cena's movie career takes off, he'll be the next one to walk away from the WWE for Hollywood in the next few years.

Cena is very banged up from over a decade in the company and has missed some significant time through the years with various injuries, so it's not unreasonable to think he could decide to hang it up to start acting, following in the footsteps of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

WWE Officials Unhappy With CM Punk

Cena missed Monday Night RAW this week due to a movie commitment and is slated to miss some more time over the next few months to film The Nest and Trainwreck, and depending on how those movies do, Cena could end up pursuing a career in acting.

Some wrestlers backstage have joked that Cena will start "bringing it in via satellite" soon as Johnson did when his movie career started and during his feud with Cena leading into back-to-back clashes at WrestleManias XXVIII and XXIX.

If Cena does end up leaving for Hollywood, it likely wouldn't be for a few years when his in-ring career winds down, especially since he ripped Johnson apart on several occasions for being a part-time performer.

Johnson was one of the most popular stars in the WWE to come out of the famed "Attitude Era," but he left in 2004 to pursue movies full-time and took a seven-year hiatus from the company before returning in 2011 to host WrestleMania XXVII.

Cena is due to battle Brock Lesnar on Aug. 17 at the SummerSlam pay-per-view at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, but he is slated to miss another RAW before the event as he did this past week for filming.

Cena is a 15-time WWE World Champion, one shy of Ric Flair's mark of 16 World Championship reigns, and while he may leave the company for acting down the line, he should have a few years left in him in the WWE.
