The Washington Nationals (2-0) will look to earn their first series sweep on Thursday when they host the Miami Marlins (0-2) at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. Washington will look to start 3-0 for the first time since 2008 and become the first team in 50 years to record a shutout in each of their first three games.

Wasington saw impressive performances from their starters Stephen Strasburg and Gio Gonzalez, as well as their bullpen in relief work. The Nationals led the NL with a 3.33 ERA in 2012 and has allowed just two extra-base hits, struck out 14 and walked four in the first two games of 2013.

Right-hander Jordan Zimmermann will start for the impressive Nationals' pitching staff. Zimmermann went 12-8 last season with a 2.94 ERA and 153 strikeouts.

Miami will start left-hander Wade LeBlanc. In 2012, LeBlanc 2-5 in 68.2 innings pitched during his first season with the Marlins. He recorded 43 strikeouts and had a 3.67 ERA.

Bryce Harper will look to continue his impressive start to his sophomore MLB season. Harper hit two home runs in the Nationals' opening day win over the Marlins and went 2-for-4 Wednesday. Dating back to last season, the former No. 1 overall pick is hitting .326 with six home runs during an 11-game hitting streak against the Marlins.
