The Seattle Seahawks took home the Lombardi Trophy for the first time in franchise history when they throttled the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl, but the fans of Seattle want the world to remember the NFC Championship game.

According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, two Seahawks fans are attempting to raise funds to build a bronze statue outside of CenturyLink Field. The statue would depict cornerback Richard Sherman’s game-winning play in the last minutes of the 2014 NFC Championship Game against Michael Crabtree and the San Francisco 49ers.

Joe Michaels and Chris Bauer want the statue to be built so fans can stand and take pictures in the right spot to intercept Sherman’s last second tipped pass. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer posted the entire story:

“Michaels and Bauer, who both work for Microsoft, said they have a goal of raising $250,000 for the statue via the crowdfunding website Indiegogo. Their campaign will go live on Indiegogo at 12:12 p.m. July 28; anyone will be able to contribute by going to their project’s website, BuildTheTip.com.”

Seattle prides themselves on their stellar home-field advantage due to how incredible their fan base is and it seems only right for them to celebrate the franchises first championship. There is no word if the Seattle organization will allow the project to happen if it raises the necessary funds, but it would, obviously, become a tourist attraction overnight.

The Seahawks and 49ers head up the NFL’s most heated rivalry and will play each other in San Francisco on Thanksgiving and then again in Seattle on December 14.
