Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians and general manager Steve Keim have scheduled a private workout Saturday at USC for former Trojan quarterback Matt Barkley, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Arizona traded for Carson Palmer this week, however, may still look to draft Barkley as their quarterback of the future.

Barkley worked out for the Buffalo Bills in Los Angeles on Monday, a league source told ESPN.com. The Bills own the No. 8 overall pick in this month's NFL draft. The Cardinals own the No. 7 overall pick.

Barkley worked out at USC's pro day last week and was scouted by 31 of the NFL's 32 teams. His draft stock has been a topic of debate since returning for his senior year at USC last season.

Once believed to be a consensus first-round pick, barkley sprained his shoulder on Nov. 17 against rival UCLA and missed the Trojan's final two games of the 2012 season. He passed for 3,273 yards and 36 touchdowns as a senior, becoming the Pac-12 leader for career passing yards (12,327) and touchdowns (116), however, disappointed many with poor decision making and a heavily hyped pre-season Heisman campaign.
