Two clubs chasing the Apertura Liga MX title will do battle today in a league match between Toluca and Morelia. The first-division clash scheduled for 1 p.m. ET will be held at Nemesio Diez Stadium in Tolica and can be live streamed here via the Univison Deportes mobile app. Additional TV coverage can be found on Univision.
Poor preseason form forced Toluca manager Jose Saturnino Cardozo to critical of his men. A 2-1 loss to Pumas UNAM in the Cuna del Futbol tournament earlier in July left the Paraguayan unsatisfied. "Against Queretaro, we had our best effort in terms of footballing aspects," Cardozo said (via Record). "Now, we didn't play well against Pumas and that doesn't leave us happy at all. We were lacking in the final third of the pitch."
"I don't like to lose," he added. "We had options, chances, but we weren't able to bury them. We expect to keep working hard and be at our peak to compete for the championship. We're a big team and the expectations are huge. We have to keep fighting."
