Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star guard Kyrie Irving can't wait to get into the basketball court with new teammate LeBron James.
The Duke product said on Saturday that he has a great feeling about the upcoming 2014-15 season with the return of James to Cleveland after spending four years in Miami.
"It's an exciting time, I can tell you that," Irving said according to Fox Sports Ohio and as quoted by ESPN. "Everything is happening."
"I was excited," Irving added. "You have to empathize with the guy. I think we all felt his emotions with his essay (on SI.com). ... I found out like everyone else found out."
Irving had just agreed to a five-year extension worth $90 million with the Cavaliers a day before James announced that he would return to his native Ohio.
Speaking about that announcement, Irving said: "I'm glad we got it done. A couple days later, a guy decided to come back to Cleveland. The rest is history. Now, we'll let (general manager) David Griffin do his thing. ..."
The Cavaliers are still a work in progress, with rumors saying that the team is engaged in talks to acquire another All-Star in Kevin Love for the past two number one picks, Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett.
The team has also added veteran shooters and known James pals Mike Miller and James Jones to shore up their bench and provide the outside sniping to open up the lanes for James and Irving.
