Two clubs chasing the Apertura Liga MX title will do battle today in a league match between Leon and Club America. The first-division clash scheduled for 9 p.m. ET will be held at the Nou Camp in Leon and can be live streamed free using the Deportes Telemundo En Vivo app. Additional TV coverage can be found on Telemundo.
Leon returns to the pitch still sitting at the summit of Mexican football. The club has captured each of the last two Liguilla crowns and manager Gustavo Matosas is raising the bar for 2014. A three-peat and CONCACAF Champions League title is now the goal.
"Keeping everyone motivated is important," Matosas said (via AM). "It's the same motivation that a worker who goes to work everyday at 5 a.m. to earn a living for his family has. Your passion, your inner fire, desire to improve, passion and motivation appear from your heart, from the deep."
"The idea is to always keep thinking about the important objectives in the short-term, but also the long-term. Keeping the idea of the game and win the next [title]. Then, keep fighting."
