Two clubs chasing the Apertura Liga MX title will do battle today in a league match between Cruz Azul and Pachuca. The first-division clash scheduled for 6 p.m. ET will be held at the Estadio Azul in Mexico City and can be live streamed free via Univision's mobile app. Additional TV coverage can be found on Univision.
Pachuca came within one victory of lifting their sixth league title last season. Now, Enrique Meza returns to the sidelines in hopes of capturing the same magic. Despite losing his leading striker Enner Valencia to West Ham United, excitement surrounds the camp.
"I have a lot of ambition to do important things," Meza said (via OEM). "We're better than we were last season. I definitely see a better team. I don't think we're at 100 percent, but I don't think any of the other teams that start the season can say they're at 100 percent."
When asked how he intends to cope with the loss of Valencia, Meza added: "What Enner did was really good and that's in the past now. It's history. Now, I see other elements like Carreño, Nahuelpan and Alustiza, that have the capacity to do their job."
