Never has a No. 7 player in the world so dictated media coverage of an event.

Tiger Woods PED use? New book on Alex Rodriguez talks about Woods' involvement with A-Rod doctors

USA TODAY Sports' For the Win reported Thursday that ESPN, which is broadcasting next week's British Open, will carry a feed of an exclusive Tiger Woods broadcast for the whole team he is in the tournament.

Woods' play will be broadcast on ESPN3, with Trey Wingo serving as the "Tiger Woods Channel host" and Tom Weiskopf and David Duval.

For the Win lauds the idea, saying it's hard to believe no one has thought of it before. During the NCAA Tournament, its broadcast partners CBS and Turner Sports conducted team-specific broadcast of the Final Four games, confusing a lot of people.

Tiger Woods has no chance of winning the British Open?

At least the casual golf fan will have to get on the internet to make that mistake.

One of the more interesting challenges the Tiger broadcast has is figuring out how to fill the time between Woods' shots, which will last at most one minute each from his approach to each shot to his reaction after the shot.

And as For the Win reported, if ESPN3's coverage of Wimbledon included camera on nine courts, then it stands to reason that ESPN3 can afford at least one camera to remain on Woods full time.

It's the first major of the year for Woods, who had back surgery just prior to the start of the Masters in April to repair a pinched nerve.

He just came back to professional golf last week at Quicken Loans National, where he missed the cut with a 7-over 179. So there's a chance that he could still be rusty and not even make it to the weekend at Royal Liverpool.

ESPN would follow other golfers if Woods misses the cut.
