The Southern California men's basketball team has hired Florida Gulf Coast coach Andy Enfield as their new head coach. Enfield led the No. 15 seed Florida Gulf Coast team to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament.

Athletic director Pat Haden notified ESPN Monday night that Enfield has reached an agreeement to take over the Trojans' basketball program. A source told ESPN.com's Andy Katz that Enfield's deal is for six years.

While at Florida Gulf Coast, Enfield earned $157,000 a year, but according to a source with direct knowledge, the USC deal will be worth "well over $1 million a year."

"Andy has been successful in every area of his life," Haden said in a statement released by ESPN."He has been a success on the court as a record-setting player, in the classroom as an Academic All-American, in the corporate world with successful businesses, in his personal life as a husband and father, as an NBA assistant and shooting coach, as a collegiate assistant at Florida State and most recently as a head coach with his Sweet Sixteen team at Florida Gulf Coast." The 43-year-old coach was 41-28 in his two season at the Fort Myers, Fla., school.
