The defense rested in the Oscar Pistorius murder trial, but it's a video of Pistorius that is making most of the headlines. A video of Pistorius has leaked in which he is seen reenacting the shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

The video was never supposed to be released and was a filming by U.S. forensic animation and investigation company The Evidence Room. In the video, Pistorius can be seen moving awkwardly on his amputated legs with his arm stretched outright as if he was holding a gun.

According to ABC News, the video was not used as evidence in court, but Pistorius’ legal team maintains that the tape was obtained illegally. Soon after the leak, the prosecution stated they had "nothing to do" with the video emerging.

“It is unclear why the reenactment was done or why it was not shown to the trial. It was reported before the trial that The Evidence Room was preparing an animated reenactment of the events of February 14 but no mention was made of it in court.

Pistorius’ legal team claimed in a statement that Channel 7 obtained the video illegally and that The Evidence Room breached a non-disclosure agreement.”

Prosecutor Gerrie Nel could reapply to have the case reopened and include the video in the evidence. The video shows that Pistorius appears more mobile and balanced than he and his defense team had claimed.

Pistorius is on trial for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentines Day of 2013. Pistorius was ordered to undergo a month long psych evaluation after events in the court room and they ruled that he is suffering from depression and post traumatic stress disorder. The evaluators also concluded that if Pistorius doesn't continue psychiatric care he could become suicidal.

Final arguments for the Oscar Pistorius murder trial are scheduled for Aug. 7-8.
