British heavyweight Tyson Fury is slated to face Dereck Chisora on July 26, while Deontay Wilder, an up-and-coming American knockout artist is the mandatory challenger for Bermane Stiverne's WBC heavyweight championship. The way Fury and Wilder are attacking one another on social media though might trick the casual fan into thinking they are fighting very soon.

Stiverne's trainer calls Wilder "frail" and "skinny"

Wilder has itched for a chance to fight Fury for quite some time, and isn't above vicious taunts on the internet. Recently, he mocked Fury's physique and threatened to inflict a great deal of bodily harm if he does get the opportunity to meet him in the squared circle.

"Hey fat body, I got a diet plan for you. It's called 'Stop eating, damn it.' You better pray that God have mercy on your head from the swelling I'm going to put on it. Then I'm going to body slam you, fat boy. Aww, the fat green Shrek is mad now. Oh I'm going to hurt you so bad," Wilder wrote.

Fury denies ducking Wilder

Fury fired back with his own taunt and called Wilder a coward. "Bronze Bomber, I'll pray for you to get some brains, empty head. Just like to say Bronze Bomber is a [expletive] house coward just like Mr. David Haye. One more time for every one - Anytime, anyplace, anywhere."

Their online and verbal rivalry is not a new one-several months ago Wilder called Fury a clown and questioned his real worth as a fighter. "You know, he's a sorry excuse for a heavyweight, man, all he wants to do is talk, talk, talk," Wilder said.

"I mean, he thinks that if he talks a good game that will bring excitement to people and stuff like that. But people don't want to see a person just talk, talk, talk, they also want to see some action too.

"If you're not showing the action behind it, people are not going to believe you anymore. They're just going to assume that you're just a clown of the sport. He's just a big mascot and people now, they're not laughing with him, they're laughing at him."

Wilder doesn't have any date set for his face-off with Stiverne, but the outcome of Fury vs. Chisora will go a long way toward determining if this social media war will conclude in the ring. Should Fury lose to Chisora, he would be a far less desirable opponent for Wilder as he tries to ascend to the top of the division.
