The Indiana Pacers and Lance Stephenson hit a snag in their contract talks last week and it doesn't look like it will improve. Stephenson will now explore his options as a free agent.

He has received interest from multiple teams around the league and will see what they have to offer before making a decision.

Rockets Pursue Chris Bosh

Stephenson turned down a five-year, $44 million contract from the Pacers, believing he will get a better offer on the free-agent market. The Los Angeles Lakers and Charlotte Hornets have expressed interest in Stephenson, but ESPN’s Chris Broussard believes the Mavericks are the team to watch.

“Dallas, believing it will likely lose out on both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, will attempt to sign Chandler Parsons away from the Houston Rockets. The Mavericks also have Luol Deng and Trevor Ariza in their sights, sources said.

But Stephenson has also recently emerged as a target of the Mavericks. A month ago, or even a few weeks ago, Stephenson was not on Dallas' radar but over the past few days the Mavericks have registered their interest, according to sources.”

The Mavericks would be an ideal landing spot for Stephenson considering Dallas is one of the worst rebounding teams in the league. Stephenson averaged 7.2 rebounds per game and had the most triple doubles of any player last season.

Bulls Looking to Sign European All-Star?

Stephenson is not expected to receive a better offer from the Pacers and will have to weight his options if he receives a better deal in free agency. Stephenson averaged 13.8 pointes per game in 2013-14' and started in 78 games for the Pacers.
