The Houston Rockets may have seen the writing on the wall when it comes to LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, and turned their attention to James' teammate of the past four seasons--Chris Bosh. The sweet-shooting power forward would likely be an ideal complement to incumbent Rockets center Dwight Howard, and the team has apparently put on a full-court press in courting him.

A source told ESPN.com that the Rockets are "heavily engaged" in recruitment for Bosh, and also said that as the free agent process has dragged on he's become increasingly interested in exploring "Plan Bs."

Despite those reports, all indications prior to the end of the 2013-14 season were that Bosh preferred to stay in Miami, and recent comments made by his agent Henry Thomas point to remaining in South Beach as still being the best guess. Thomas, who also represents Dwyane Wade, told ESPN.com's Michael Wallace "They appreciate what they've done in Miami those four years together, and they want to make sure they have a chance to have that same success the next four (years).

"With Dwyane, he's been there his entire career, so he's in a unique situation. Chris has made it known how he's felt about being in Miami these four years."

LeBron meeting with five other franchises

Last year was Bosh's worst statistically, with averages of 16.2 points per game, 6.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists. Those numbers might be misleading though, as Bosh has subjugated much of his skill set for the good of the "Big 3" as a whole. He's become a perimeter-oriented player, knocking down 33 percent of his 3-pointers on a career-high 2.8 attempts a night. In the playoffs, his attempts leapt to 3.7 a game and his percentage shot up to 40.5 percent.

With Houston, Bosh would still be part of a Big 3, but one that would likely rely on more of his skills than just shooting. He'd also space the floor nicely for Howard, who works exclusively in the post on offense.
